Analfabetismo emotivo e dislivello prometeico: la prospettiva di Günther Anders

Abstract

In this contribution we have analyzed the connection between language and emotions, through the difficulties that arise when this relationship breaks. When we have no words to mean our emotions, we don’t know what we feel, and we become inscrutable to ourselves and to others. Scientists have called “alexithymia” this inability to recognize our emotions and to transfer them to the level of the words. In the first part of this contribution we talked about alexithymia in young people of today and about the important role of education in helping youth to overcome their discomfort. According to Galimberti’s theory school could help young people of today to find themselves through education of the heart. In the second part of this contribution we have analyzed emotional illiteracy in Günther Anders’s perspective. We have particularly analyzed the mutism of man in the face of catastrophes generated by himself with the help of technology.
